I have no clue what's even in the top 40 - though I was tickled to see that Van Morrison had his first-ever number one album just a month or so ago. I haven't run out and bought it, but I was glad to see him up there.

I make my bread & butter in the Top 40 biz. Hit music radio, that is, and I'd dare say I'm more familiar with what's going on with it than anybody else here. Not bragging, mind you, especially since it looks like no one would see it as something to brag about, and I don't, either. But it is what it's always been: some worse than a fart, some better. I did get Van's new single several weeks ago--didn't do very much at all on the chart, as I expected it certainly wouldn't, but just as it was when Van himself was really a "relevant" Top 40 contender (let's remember, folks: just because it's a hit, does not imply whatsoever that it sucks at all), it's good music, plain and simple. And lest we forget: Touch of Grey was a Top 10 smash in 1987.

Lots of catchy tunes on the Top 40, though, and I'm glad that, even at my advanced age, I'm still as up to date with what's on it as I was when I was kid listening faithfully to Casey Kasem every week while he counted 'em down--all the way to #1.

Keep your feet on the ground . . . and keep reaching for the stars!

i think it may depend on who's doing the farting. That having been said a fart is better than the pablum being fed to the masses disguised as music.

Peace
